Pt. Ajeet Kumar Mishra, the veteran music wizard, with a rich family legacy in the field of classical music and dance, had a common vision with a small group of music lovers to create a platform where anybody, bestowed with talent and impelled by desire to carve the way ahead, can walk on and have ones skill sharpened through guided practice until it becomes an asset for the future. And they had their dream fulfilled when the idea became a reality on September 23, 2008 in the name and style of 'Raganjali Cultural, Educational & Welfare Society'.

Given to philanthropic approach, this group of seasoned music lovers, led by Pandit Mishra, has taken upon themselves the responsibility of reaching out to those in particular who have substance enough but are bereft of means to make the best out of it. The group includes members like Mr. G.B. Mathur, Mr. Mukesh Gupta, Ms. Supriya Agarwal, Dr. (Mrs.) Rajshree Saxena and Mr. Sharad Srivastava, who, though engaged in their own flourishing professions, not only learn nuances of rhythms and beats, but also find time and energy from their reserves, when it comes to promoting fine arts.

With Mishraji as its driving force, Raganjali strives to provide counselling to the budding artistes, particularly to those with meagre means, gives them a stage to perform and helps them to refine their performances by getting over their stage consciousness. It grooms new artistes for prestigious performances and helps their exposure to media for wider publicity.
